Anastasia gazed out over the crashing waters below as she sat on some rocks that jut out from the cliffs. Her eyes followed the shimmer of the sun on the water as it seemed to grow longer and longer upon the surface of the water. A soft glow of her skin set in as the sun grew lower and lower in the sky.
Anastasia shifted so her chest rested against her knees as her arms rested on top her knees also. A small sigh escaped her mouth as she stared out. Everything seemed so beautiful and perfect since she moved here. Nothing had attacked her or gone wrong and she preferred it would stay like so. She brought her hands up to gently let her long dark hair out of her pony tail which now rested just above the ground at her tiny waist. One arm came to rest back up on her knees as her other hand gently brushed the ground. Her fingers ran over a small black rock as her eyes dropped to watch her fingers.
She pictured James smiling face in her head and a small beautiful smile perched on her lips. Soon that mental image led to James being beaten to death and ripped apart. Tears flooded her eyes as she blinked once and noticed the small trickle of blood running down her fingers. She quickly dropped the rock that she must have wrapped her fingers around. "Damnit." She swore under her breath as she examined the small cut in her hand. Her jaw clamped together as she breathed in through her nose slowly as her eyes closed and her hand dropped back to rest against her side. You need to be so much more careful Anastasia. Starting now. She thought to herself as she rolled her eyes a bit at herself.
She missed James so much, even though he had been long gone for a few years. A small ache always filled her heart when she thought about him. She really wanted to move on, but couldn't right now. She put her arms back up on her knees ignoring the cut as she rested her forehead on her arms gently and closed her eyes. She listened to everything but the waves crashing against the shore below as she tried to block out every thought that tried to enter her head at this point. She couldn't let herself think about it or she would end up hurting herself again and probably more seriously.
She remembered the first day she actually was able to leave the hospital, she almost intentionally killed herself. She stopped herself though because she figured that it would just show she didn't care about what James wanted for her. She really didn't want to be stuck here though either. She ended up deciding that she wanted to live for him and what he wanted for her. She has spent many years on trying to be happier and she has been unsuccessful even to this point.
